Buyer Warm Tips Tip 1 - You must use this in a drill that has some Power. Also make sure to use the side handle for your drill, if don't you will probably twist/break your wrist. Also any plug in drill will probably work. Tip 2 - Do Not Drill This Into The Center of Your Log. Drill on the edges of your log, it will split much easier that way and help to prevent the tool getting stuck. Tip 3 - Avoid knots like the plague. It will get stuck if you try to go through a knot. Tip 4 - If you drill on the left side of the log/wood then it will take advantage of the rotation of the drill. If you are drilling on the ground then put your knee or foot against the log to prevent it from spinning, or you can angle it a bit so it rotates into the ground. Best situation you have a table/station that you can use that maybe even has a stop built into it. Tip 5 - Works best to break down already split logs into smaller kindling or smaller logs to fit into a small stove. It did a great job on this pallet that I needed to dispose of. As some have mentioned it can get stuck if you drill into the center of a solid piece of wood. It's best to work inward from the edges. If you reverse a stuck bit it will just unscrew the bit from the splitter. To get unstuck, it's best just to move the drill sideways. I doubt it will work on very wet wood, it needs to be dry.Nope. Doesn't work at all. Tried it first in a cordless ryobi hammer drill, stuck less than half an inch in at the edge of the wood just like the video. Tried it multiple times, nothing. Tried it in my corded drill, got stuck same spot, started smoking. Tried my high end drill press, GOT STUCK SAME AS THE CORDLESS DRILL! Switched to a DeWalt corded hammer drill and it BURNED THE DAMN THING OUT. Absolute waste of money. I have no idea how people can sell trash like this. Returning immediately.I like the product because it is a lot easier than using an ax to split firewood.Obviously doesn’t work as advertised. Only splits very little pieces. Do t buy itUnfortunately, this is not as durable an item as expected. It literally broke on the very first piece of wood we tried it on. Went in only a small distance before I felt resistance. When I tried backing out, it broke. Very poor quality. Unfortunately, I got too busy and didn't get a chance to return it, so I'm out the money. Don't make the same mistake! Was not pleased with this product one bit. I tried with 3 different drills and each time the drill bit still managed to get stuck in the wood. It did not fulfill my wood splitting needs. I had High expectations, but they were not met. I used the bit as displayed in the video...all I got was a stuck bit and smoking drills. This thing only works with a very powerful drill motor. Then if you have one it will spin the log before it will break it. The log must be very dry to work effectively. In the video they must have the log tied down to make it look easy. Save your money and buy an axe! This product did not work for me. The bit went roughly 1/4 inch into the wood and then seized up. I even bought a new corded 1/2 inch hammer drill/driver for the extra power after my cordless drill was also unsuccessful.
