My wife, a retired professional pet and show dog stylist, needed a nail grinder to accompany her nail trimmers. We have an English Bulldog puppy whose nails grow really quickly. Bulldogs are evidently notorious for not liking the nails clipped, per my wife and the numerous bulldog people she knows. My wife however has started many a puppy on the right path to actually looking forward to a little nail pampering.This nail grinder is surprisingly quiet. I was afraid the noise would scare my boy. My wife started it up and rubbed it all over his body with the tip cover on. Within a few minutes my puppy was accepting and comfortable with my wife picking up a paw, grinder cover still on, and rubbing it all over his paws. With in ten minutes she had his nails buffed up.My pup ran over to me afterwards and jumped up on my and his nails were smooth unlike guillotine style trimmers that leave the nails ruff and splintery. We opened the grinder up and see the sanding wheel. Again pleasantly surprised, it is a quality piece; it can also be changed out once worn out.It charges fast and stores in a small space. It’s not bulky at all like the nail grinders of the past. Ergonomic and easy to hold: my wife has nerve damage and her hands cannot take any over exertion. She reports that the grinder fits in the hand perfectly; I can attest it fits in all size hands as my wife and I have size differences and I found this nail grinder easy to hold. It also only took a couple of hours to fully charge.It’s especially nice to not have cords and a decent rechargeable battery for such a well priced nail grinder. We both would highly recommend this item.So it does what is supposed to do... felt like it took forever to get through my pups nails. Maybe I needed s higher power one? I had a weekly routine of bath and nails for my boy every Sunday but I never got 100% through each one every week. I wound up splitting the task between Satirday and Sunday so it could recharge.Recharge time was completelyreasonable by the way; I just personally ran out of time.Pup adjusted to the noise relatively quickly with treats. To help him adjust and get used to the vibrations, I also put the item against his foot without grinding his nails. It took about 2 sessions before he adjusted enough.For the count, he was a 40 lb mid-sized dog. Maybe I got the wrong size. Idk, I wouldn't buy it again for my needs but that isn't too easy the nail grinder is bad.Love this product! The light makes it a great way to see if you're getting close to the quick in the dog's nail. Works great! Start training with a file early and this will be no problem for the pup, Not too loud and as long as you don't hold it for long periods on the nail, it doesn't get too hot.I absolutely LOVE this product! Blows the Furminator dog nail file out of the water! I have a 3 year old Heeler/Rottweiler and she’s around 70 lbs. I would DEFINITELY recommend this product to anyone ?A must have. I have a shepherd that’s still 6 months old. I didn’t want her first time to be scary. I had a very very old one and it just didn’t work fast enough or was quiet enough. This tool works immediately and quickly depending on the setting you choose. It got through her black very thick nails smoothly and efficiently. It slows down if it hits anything a weird way. Very easy for all dogs but it’s really great for the difficulties with bigger dogs and luckily now my dog isn’t scared of it and she lets me do it. She’s happy to not get clipped and to not scratch anyone anymore.This product will slowly file down even a very large dog's nails. I have been just doing a little bit at a time, to get my dogs gradually adjusted. The light is very helpful. It is small and easy to use and charge.The noise level is pretty good.
